The 3D One-Leg Hopper that was developed by Marc Raibert in 1983 and 1984 was also honored. The robot is revered for its breakthroughs in robotic dynamic-leg locomotion and balance. The robot can maintain balance, follow a particular direction and travel at a specific speed with control algorithms.
The One-Leg Hopper, also called the Raibert Hopper, is considered exceptional for providing background information to many subsequent two-leg and four-leg robots.
