Images: Hot news about the sun
Scientists are unraveling some of the mysteries of the closest star to Earth from images taken by Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (STEREO) and Hinode probes that were launched in the fall of 2006.
The STEREO project consists of two observatories, one ahead of Earth in its solar orbit and the other behind it. Its purpose is to capture 3D images of the sun and study solar flares.
