The good: 7.1-channel A/V receiver with HDMI switching for two HDMI sources; Audyssey 2EQ automatic calibration is the most advanced autosetup ever offered by Onkyo; XM Satellite Radio-Ready with XM Neural Surround; optional iPod dock.
The bad: Won't convert analog video signals to HDMI; no onscreen menus via HDMI; only two HDMI inputs; no phono input.
The bottom line: The affordable Onkyo TX-SR604 offers solid sound and an advanced autosetup system, but you'll need to opt for the step-up model if you want more robust HDMI features.
