Mac OS X Leopard: The Right Tool for the Job?
Mac OS X Leopard Stacks
Here you can see a Stack accessed from the Dock. In this case, I dragged the Applications folder to the Dock.
As a result, whenever clicking on the Applications icon within the new Dock, I can now access the folders contents from this new Stack menu.
Stacks can display items either in a window or grid pattern, as shown here, or in a curving (fan) column that rises from the Dock itself.
Such time-saving Dock tweaks make the OS much more usable and user interaction much more efficient, particularly when on the go. In my professional experience working as an IT consultant, these improvements alone justify the upgrade cost.
