SmartDraw 2008: The Right Tool for the Job?
Importing from Excel
Right at the outset, this software is looking to be pretty sweet. It's nice to be able to type my data right in or drag bars where I want them.
But a lot of the time there is a detailed spreadsheet that needs to be converted to a chart and no one wants to re-type a bunch of numbers. Importing data from your Excel spreadsheet is possible, but not quite as intuitive as much of what we've seen. The secret is under the Chart tab. Select "Insert Chart from File" (see inset) and SmartDraw will do the rest.
