Photos: New tech in huge TVs

The technology that started it all. MicroDisplay uses this LCOS chip to power its large-screen projection TVs. It was invented in the late 1990s by MIT researchers and intended initially for virtual reality goggles for military use. When virtual reality didn't pan out, the scientists instead formed MicroDisplay.
