Photos: Happy hour with robots
No one said a robo-bartender has look like a young Tom Cruise in Cocktail or Piper Perabo in Coyote Ugly. It just has to serve drinks the way you want them, when you want them. This one goes by the name of Chopek; it's the creation of David Calkins , who teaches robotics at San Francisco State University.
"It's all about the flair, the atmosphere and the personality that a robot can have," Magnus Wurzer, who helped launch Roboexotica in 1999, told Reuters this week. "They shouldn't behave like they were in a factory; they should be cultured and urbane."
