NSM: Alerting Configuration, SMS
This must be my favorite alerting option. SMS (Short Messaging Service) or text messaging is an increasingly popular way of communicating. In the case of systems monitoring, this has an added use of being OOB, or out-of-band. What it means is that a text messaging alert will not be susceptible to a key router failing, or your Internet connectivity going down. My blog post, Text Messaging in business, explains this in more detail.

Of course, you will need to purchase a GSM modem if you intend to go with the 'In-built GSM SMS Server.'
