Nokia is a company with a long commitment to environmental practices and products. Here is a concept for a solar-powered phone and an "Eco Sensor" that would be able to communicate with the phone.
The idea behind the Eco Sensor is to provide people with environmental information such as alerts on air quality and weather. It would also be able to monitor a person's health, such as tracking his heart rate.
The phone and Eco Sensor would have to work with some other power source, given that solar energy is not always available.
