Photos: Going from fridges to upscale phones

Big TVs with a 120Hz refresh rate can come from any large manufacturer. Haier, however, is from China, not Taiwan, South Korea, or Japan. Lenovo became the first tech company to gain worldwide prominence with consumers, but it did that by buying IBM's PC division. Haier could become the first to do it without an acquisition.
