Divine Abrera, a tour guide at the Dive Link Resort off the island of Coron, sends a text message to her 5-year-old son, while she travels by Bangka boat into town. The Philippines is the text-messaging capital of the world. Filipinos send on average between 12 and 15 SMS (Short Message Service) messages a day. In aggregate, this is about 400 million text messages a day.
